As I red the first time about the concept of finding joy in the world's grief of nowadays in Prune Harris's blog, I was perplexed. As if the two things could not suit each other. We are used to think so since we were children. Nevertheless, here we have a constant hidden polarity. Since our ego aspires to be always saint in a way, just the thought of having joy while other people suffer, seems to be barbaric to us. Some of my empathic friends spend their whole lives in their "debt" to endure and to share the global burden. Anyway, "finding joy in the common grief" is the embracing of the world state and of constant change that always undergoes. It is apart from our ego. I think, literally, it is acceptance, when we learn to see the whole picture, welcome challenges, and love the most shadowy parts of us. It is the state, where you change from a criticizer, who aspires and burns to change the world and the unfair patriarchal system all of a sudden, to a person, who witnesses the constant social transformation and sees our common process of evolvement and its unique potential.
It is an amazing experience to be a human and experience the whole palette of our existence here! (Dark colors included)
